Chapter II.History of the house
In the footsteps of reeve Jakob Robisch
1773 – 1847
Jakob Robisch was born in 1773 and farmed homestead No. 151 in Kunratice – today’s house No. 153, where you will stay. For seventeen years he was the village reeve, and he championed the building of the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
“The mountains remember more than people do.”

In 1804 he travelled to Prague by stagecoach and personally handed Empress Maria Theresa of Naples and Sicily a petition to build the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Kunratice. The church still stands, a few minutes’ walk from the house.
He was elected reeve in 1827 and held the office for seventeen years. As one of eleven reeves of the Boleslav region he attended the coronation of Emperor Ferdinand V in Prague in 1836, and a year later received the silver medal for merit.
The house bears the year 1844, when he handed over the office, in its emblem. Jakob Robisch died in 1847 at the age of 74.
